Boston And Joan Jett Announce Joint Tour Dates

Posted by Juliana Tessaro on

This week, the 70’s rock band Boston added more dates to their Hyperspace Tour and they have a new guest on the lineup: Joan Jett and The Blackhearts.

The two acts will perform old hits as well as new songs from their more recent records, Unvarnished from Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Live, Love & Hope from Boston, both released in 2015.

Boston is responsible for many hits throughout the seventies and eighties, such as “More than a Feeling”, “Rock ’N’ Roll Band”, “Peace of Mind”, “Amanda”, and many more. Their debut and self-titled album, released in 1976, has sold over 17 million copies, making it one of the best-selling debut albums in the U.S. The band’s singer has been Tommy DeCarlo since 2008. He replaced Brad Delp after he committed suicide in 2007.

Joan Jett is one of the founding members of the first all girl rock ’n' roll band, The Runaways, who came to prominence in 1975. The band ceased to be in 1979, and Joan pursued a solo career; after being rejected by 23 record labels, she founded Blackheart Records with Kenny Laguna. One of her biggest hits was a cover of The Arrows’ “I Love Rock ’N’ Roll”, as well as other songs of her own, such as “Crimson and Clover” and “I Hate Myself For Loving You”. Arguably her most popular hit, “Bad Reputation”, was featured as the opening song for the short lived TV show Freaks and Geeks as well as a walkout song for MMA fighter and former Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Ronda Rousey.
