Music is the one thing in life that you can always count on. Since the beginning of time, people have turned to music to express themselves, providing a unique insight into history from the perspectives of the people actually there. Obviously musicians have evolved over the years, going from the time of the first simple drum beats to today’s astoundingly complex melodies, but what’s so special about music compared to other forms of culture? Why is it so important in today’s society?
Music is universal.
Even if we can’t understand the words, we all feel the emotions poured into the melodies. No matter what age, gender, race, or religion you are, there’s a song out there made just for you. Take a moment to let it sink in.
We don’t appreciate what goes into the things we love enough in today’s world, but it only takes a minute to realize how important it is to give thanks. Music has literally saved lives. The person reading this article before or after you might only be alive because of a song, or an album, or an artist. Maybe you wouldn’t even be here.
Before you go on with your day, whether you observe Thanksgiving or not, stop a moment. Think about that one song that speaks to you. Think about the person behind it, and their emotions, and the work that they put into that one song so you could share the experience with them. Think, and give thanks.
Thank you for reading! Happy Thanksgiving (or Thursday)!
