Motley Crue Reunion? Not Likely.

Posted by Sydney Taylor on

Over the past couple of days, an article entitled, Mötley Crüe Rumored to Be Doing Secret New Album + 2018 Tour? surfaced on social media.

Within hours of the post, numerous websites circulated the news and rock fans everywhere became angered at the idea that the band had lied about their initial Final Tour which came to a close in December of 2015.

An article on the rock news site, Sleaze Roxx entitled,“Mötley Crüe Rumoured to Be Working on ‘Top Secret’ New Album With Tour to Follow in 2018!” reports the rumours, saying:

According to a source close to the band, the early stages of recording rumors are true, with as many as eight songs… Mötley Crüe are rumored to be planning a worldwide tour at the end of 2018. REPS are not giving up any information on a new album, or any of the rock band’s future plans.”

Sleaze Roxx also states,

“The source claimed, ‘Mick is the one who made this happen.’ They also claim that this will definitely be THE END after the movie hits Netflix and they do a special world tour for the new album.”

Sorry to disappoint you Crüe fans, but within a couple days of the rumor surfacing, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx shut the rumor down on Twitter in multiple tweets saying:

“SORRY MY FRIEND BUT THAT IS NOT TRÜE.”

“WE HAD A GREAT 35 YEARS TOGETHER BUT WE ENDED IT AND THERE IS NOTHING IN THE FUTURE AS A BAND..”

And lastly in relation to the initial article by Cindy Scully,

“PEOPLE POSTING JUST TO GET A HEADLINE? DISAPPOINTING..”

As well as,

“So sick in general of news outlets posting up bullshit just to get a click on their website “NEEDING TO MAKE THEIR SOCIAL MONTHLY NUMBERS”

So Crüe fans, the bad boys of rock and roll don’t plan on hitting the road again. But don’t fear, we can look forward to the release of the Mötley Crüe Biopic of their autobiography The Dirt coming to Netflix soon!
