This week the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, announced that he would be once again teaming up with his longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde for multiple solo dates this summer.
Osbourne and Wylde originally teamed up in the year 1987 when Wylde replaced Jake E. Lee, Ozzy’s guitarist at the time. Wylde was featured on every Ozzy Osbourne album from No Rest For The Wicked (1988) all the way up to the release of Black Rain (2007). That was Wylde’s last album with Osbourne.
Since Wylde’s departure from the Ozzy line-up, he’s been focused on his own band Black Label Society. The two have also made clear that they have not had a falling out with each other, but have simply been focused on their own musical endeavors.
There have been four dates announced with Osbourne and Wylde; this will be the first time the pair has toured together since 2006. This will also be Ozzy’s first solo tour since 2015, as he spent the last two years touring with Black Sabbath, who played their final show at the beginning of February.
More dates plan to be announced, but as of yet, here are dates currently booked:
July 14th, 2017 ー Oshkosh, WI ー Rock USA
July 16th, 2017 ー Chicago, IL ー Chicago Open Air Festival
August 9th, 2017 ー Sturgis, SD ー The Legendary Buffalo Chip
August 21st, 2017 ー Cartersville, IL ー Moonstock Festival
