Slayer Announce Repentless World Tour

Posted by Thomas Spillane on

Thrash metal royalty, Slayer, have announced they will be embarking on a world tour named after their 2015 album Repentless.

The band will be playing shows across North America, South America and Europe. The tour will commence in El Salvador on the 28th April and finish in Phoenix, Arizona on the 20th August.

This tour will definitely not be for the faint hearted with some of the world’s heaviest known bands playing the bill. Slayer are known as one of the Big Four of thrash metal. Along with Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax, they are credited with creating the genre. Slayer have always been the heaviest band out of the Big Four, with landmark albums such as, Reign In Blood (1986), South Of Heaven (1988) and Seasons In The Abyss (1990) regarded as huge influences on the death metal genre.

Lamb Of God’s genre has been disputed by fans and critics since their inception, but one thing nobody can argue with is that their music is brutal. Originally forming as Burn The Priest in the early nineties, Lamb Of God gained popularity after changing their name in the early 2000s. Since then the band has released seven albums under the moniker, including massive albums Ashes Of The Wake (2004), and Wrath (2009).

Behemoth hail from Poland and formed in 1991. They have become renowned for making an important contribution to the Polish extreme metal scene. Their brand of black metal contains heathen lyrical content, as well as that of the occult.

Tickets for the show go on sale Friday 3 March. Tour dates are as follows.
