Vans Warped Tour Announce Stellar Lineup

Posted by Thomas Spillane on

The Vans Warped Tour have put together a great lineup of hardcore, punk and heavy metal bands.

The list contains a mix of new and upcoming acts as well as some old favourites. Leading the lineup are metalcore band, Attila, pop-punkers, Bowling For Soup and alternative metal heroes, CKY.

Attila are a metalcore band from Atlanta, GA, that have been around since 2005. Their music mixes aspects of classic metalcore with death metal. They have released seven albums with their latest, Chaos, released last year.

Bowling For Soup are a pop-punk band from Wichita Falls, TX, who formed in 1994. Their sound represents that of the classic pop-punk scene of the late nineties and early 21st century. They are known for the hit singles "1985", "Girl All The Bad Guys Want" and "High School Never Ends".

CKY gained fame in the early 21st century from their inclusion on MTV shows Jackass, Viva La Bam and Bam's Holy Union. They play an alternative take on metal music with punk influences. Drummer, Jess Margera, is the brother of celebrity skater Bam Margera.

The next tier of bands includes Hawthorne Heights, I Prevail, Jule Vera, New Years Day, Sammy Adams and Watsky. The tour will span two months, commencing in Seattle, WA on the 6th of June and finishing in Pomona, CA on the 6th August.

The Warped Tour has been running annually since 1995, becoming the Vans Warped Tour after the Vans shoe company sponsored them in 1996. Beginning as an eclectic alternative rock festival, it has now become primarily focused on punk and hardcore bands. Having said that, the tour has included a diverse range of acts over the years. The Black Eyed Peas performed in 1999 and this years lineup includes rapper Futuristic.
